Recently, Continental Airlines opened the Shenzhen-Leipzig cargo route at Shenzhen Airport, becoming the third international cargo route newly opened by Shenzhen Airport this year.
The "Shenzhen-Delhi-Leipzig" cargo route opened by Continental Airlines this time is carried out by Boeing 777 all-cargo aircraft and operates 6 times a week.
It is understood that Continental Airlines was co-founded by Lufthansa Cargo and DHL. The DHL transshipment center at Leipzig Halle Airport, which is connected by the route, is one of DHL's three major global hubs. At the same time, Leipzig Halle Airport is connected to the trans-European motorway and rail network, and freight trucks can reach 15 European countries within 8 hours.
According to the relevant person in charge of Shenzhen Airport, Shenzhen is an R&D and manufacturing center in the fields of electronic products, high-tech equipment, auto parts, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology, and the air cargo market is in strong demand. The opening of this cargo route can better meet the needs of the aviation logistics market in Shenzhen and surrounding areas, and further, promote economic and trade exchanges between South China and Europe.
Yang Mei, director of DHL Shenzhen Port, said: "Leipzig is an important global freight hub for us, and Shenzhen is also a market we value very much. We are confident in the operational prospects of this route."
It is understood that Shenzhen Airport is an important transshipment center for DHL in China and southern China. Currently, DHL operates more than 30 outbound flights at Shenzhen Airport every week. In the future, more cargo routes will be opened according to market demand.
